REQUESTING TRANSPORTATION

When requesting a trip, riders can reach Intelitran at any of the telephone numbers listed below, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Calls should be made at least two (2) full working days in advance of the day of the needed ride.

When scheduling transportation, riders should adhere to the following guidelines:

Ride Day Request By
Monday Wednesday, 4 p.m.
Tuesday Thursday, 4 p.m.
Wednesday Friday, 4 p.m.
Thursday Monday, 4 p.m.
Friday Tuesday, 4 p.m.

Requests are accepted up to one (1) month in advance.  Late requests are accommodated only as the schedule permits.  No trips are guaranteed.

Pick-Ups

Riders utilizing the WCT system should be prepared to be picked up at least fifteen (15) minutes prior to their scheduled time and fifteen (15) minutes later than their scheduled time.

SCHEDULING

Most demand response transportation services are scheduled by utilizing the parameters established in Warren County Transportation Policy Manual.  You may obtain a copy of this manual by calling the Department of Human Services at 908-475-6332.  Priorities are as follows:

Priority 1: Health and Medical Appointments; includes mental health and substance abuse counseling; rehabilitation; and pharmaceutical services.

Priority 2: Work and Vocational Education; includes job interviews, and training.

bullet

Priority 3: Social Services and Meetings; includes social service agencies such as Welfare, Housing, Food Stamps, and Social Security Offices (Easton, PA, Stroudsburg, PA and Newton, NJ).

Priority 4: Miscellaneous; includes bank, post office, hair care, club meetings and recreation.

All riders must meet WCT eligibility requirements.

CONFIRMATION

Since the trips are not guaranteed, it is recommended that riders contact the WCT provider directly at least on (1) full working day prior to the anticipated ride to confirm that the ride has been scheduled.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations must be made by calling interlitaran at least one (1) full working day prior to the scheduled ride.  When canceling transportation, riders should adhere to the following guidelines:

Monday Thursday, 4 p.m.
Tuesday Friday, 4 p.m.
Wednesday Monday, 4 p.m.
Thursday Tuesday, 4 p.m.
Friday Wednesday, 4 p.m.

Riders who fail to cancel transportation services, at least one (1) full working day in advance, three (3) times in the same month may be suspended from transportation services for thirty (30) days.

Intelitran will contact riders by telephone, at least one (1) full working day in advance, if a rider's trip needs to be cancelled and rescheduled.

CHANGES IN SCHEDULE

Intelitran is responsible for determining if the program will be closed or will close early due to inclement weather.  All closings will be announced on Q100, 99.9 FM radio station in Easton, PA beginning at 6:00 a.m.

Intelitran will make direct contact with all individuals scheduled for a trip if they intend to close early due to inclement weather.  Riders who have questions concerning the program closing early may contact either Intelitran at (908)-454-4044 or the Department of Human Services at (908)-475-6332 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The Board of Chosen Freeholders, through the Department of Human Services, administers the Warren County Transportation (WCT) system.  Intelitran became the Warren County Transportation provider as of June 1, 1999.

Intelitran provides a wide range of paratransit and special transportation services to eligible Warren County residents.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE

Warren County residents who are senior citizens, disabled, low-income, and veterans are eligible for transportation services offered by the WCT system.  In addition, residents who live in certain areas of the county are also eligible for services.  Residents who need transportation services should contact Intelitran at 908-454-4044 for additional information.

HOURS OF OPERATION

Demand Response:

Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Subscription Services:

Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., unless otherwise noted in the contract.

Transportation services will not be provided on the following legal holidays: New Years Day, Good Friday, Memorial Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

DONATION POLICY

Donations for the transportation can be submitted either directly in the locked donation boxes in the vehicle, or mailed to intelitran, 1011 Route 22, Suite 15, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865.  Listed below, by service, is the WCT suggested donation policy.  Riders may give more or less if so desired.  All donations are greatly appreciated.

Normal Service Area:

$1.00 per one way trip.

Medical Service Area:

$2.00 per one way trip.

Outside the Medical Service Area:

$10.00 per trip.

RIDERS COMMENTS, CONCERNS AND SUGGESTIONS

Input on the administration and operation of the WCT is critical to the ongoing success of the program.  Warren County residents are encouraged to openly and actively comment on the paratransit and special trasnportation services provided in Warren County.  Comments, concerns and suggestions can be made directly to:

Transportation to these meetings may be arranged.
