Introduction
Ocean County Department of Transportation and
Vehicle Services provides three types of transportation service through their Ocean
Ride program.
Non-Emergency Medical Appointments
Ocean-Ride provides non-emergency medical
transportation for seniors and disabled residents. The system will also
provide standing order appointments will not be effected by this change
(dialysis, chemotherapy and radiation customers).
Reservation Policy
The call center will accept customer trip
requests each Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for appointments during the next two
(2) full weeks. For example, calling on Monday a person will be able to
reserve a ride through the following third Friday.
If you call to make a reservation and the office
is closed due to a County holiday, we will extend the reservations period to
Thursday. Customers will always have three days each week to make
reservations.
Next Day Trip Appointments
Ocean Ride also
provides a limited number of next day trips based on availability. These
trips can be for any purpose but there is no guarantee of availability.
Reservation Policy
Please call the department between the hours of
2:00 pm and 4:30 pm the afternoon before, call the main number (732) 736-8989
then press 1 to speak to a Reservationist. If we can accommodate your
trip, you will be notified by 10:00 am the morning of the trip.

Appointments for the elderly and disabled, Ocean Ride also offers
Modified Fixed route service for all residents in Ocean County through 12 Fixed
